One of the most inspiring things to witness after Hurricane Helene was just how much our community came together; to help and support each other as we rebuild and move forward. In honor of that togetherness, we wanted to create a painting that celebrates the Asheville community and our strength together.

This painting was created by pouring acrylic paint onto a canvas suspended in the air. Under my guidance members at the event chose the color that spoke to them and added to the canvas. Color by color and cup by cup the paints came together to create this beautiful piece of artwork.

After the opening I stretched the canvas and gave it some finishing touches. “We Rise Together” has a lot of metallic layers that shift and change depending on your position to the painting. Thanks for looking!
